Easy refilling with a detachable water tank

The detachable water tank makes it easy to refill with fresh water. With a 42 oz capacity and clear dosing recommendations, it’s easy to get the right coffee-to-water ratio.

High-performance brewing system

The advanced brewing system maintains the correct extraction temperature throughout the brewing process. The water stays at 198–205°F from the first to the last drop, delivering consistent results and better flavor in every cup.

Unique pump technology

Fresh water is one of the most important ingredients for good coffee. Our pump technology completely empties the water system after every brew, ensuring your coffee is always brewed with fresh, oxygen-rich water.

With coffee makers that don’t have pump technology, up to 5 oz of water can remain in the system after brewing, which can noticeably affect the coffee’s taste. If you already have a coffee maker at home, you can easily check this by turning it upside down over the sink after brewing.

Drip stop and adjustable flow control

The adjustable flow control lets you control how quickly the water passes through the coffee grounds, helping you fine-tune the contact time for different brew sizes. This makes it easy to brew a single cup with the same balanced result as a full carafe.

You can also use the same control to pause the brewing process at any time by moving it to the drip stop position.

The Zense Alux Thermo comes with two lids for the jug:

The brewing lid can also be used for serving, but it doesn't retain heat as effectively as the serving lid.

How to use the thermal carafe

Place the lid so the arrow points to “Unlock.” Turn it to “Lock” to secure the lid. To pour, turn the lid clockwise until the arrow points to “Lock,” then turn it counterclockwise until the arrow points toward the spout and the dot. Turning it to “Lock” first helps create a vacuum for smoother pouring. After pouring, close the lid by turning it clockwise until the arrow points back to “Lock.”

Cleaning indicator for easy maintenance

When it’s time to clean, the start/stop button will begin to pulse slowly. This makes it easy to keep your coffee maker performing at its best. 

Tips for better coffee

• Rinse the paper filter with water before brewing to remove any unwanted paper taste.
• Use fresh coffee, preferably freshly ground. Ground coffee quickly loses its aroma, and grinding your beans just before brewing helps preserve more flavor. We have several grinders suitable for drip coffee.
• For even hotter coffee, rinse the thermal carafe with hot water before brewing, especially when brewing 17 oz or less.
• If the coffee maker hasn’t been used for a while, run a brew cycle with clean water before use.
• Clean the filter holder, carafe, and lid regularly, as coffee residue can affect the taste.
• Do not use the coffee carafe to fill the water tank, as coffee residue can affect the taste and quality of your coffee.
